Minutes

It was as warm, fall day when 22 members and six guests met in Omaha, Nebraska. Members and guests were from eight different states. Our meeting began with great food provided by Rex and Pat Lucke. There was a plethora of fabulous Heisey to view before, during and after the meeting. The glass was sparkling and it was difficult to see everything that was displayed.
President Donna Nyght led the short meeting as everyone was anxious for the program. The minutes from the July 12th meeting were approved and Tom gave an update on our treasury. We had updates on the fall auction by Donna, Bucky and Eric. Eric and Bucky gave a board update. Meeting dates and hosts for next year were discussed. We will finalize these dates and locations at the November 15th meeting. The dates and hosts are: March 14 – Donna, May 16 – Mocks, July 11 – Wills, September 12 – Luckes, and November 14 – Camerons.
A special presentation was made to Jean Will by Eric. Eric had the 8042 Jelly Jar with Screw Top named the Jean Will Jelly Jar. Through the years, Jean has donated almost $4,000 in jams and jellies to our club’s treasury. This was a well-deserved acknowledgement.
Tom gave us a history of our membership. We have had about 109 different members in our twenty-six years and have had 126 programs. This was a fun discussion.
Eric led the program entitled Heisey's Blues and Yellows. Heisey dabbled in other blues and yellows, some for production, some for experiment, and some--well, we just can't say for sure. We caught a glimpse of Heisey's sultry path to yellow while also relishing sparkling blues that make us wish they had done more. Rare pieces appeared in both color groups, colors you may never have seen in Heisey unless you were peering through a display case at the museum. And maybe not even there. The program table left everyone in awe over the rare and unusual pieces of Heisey in these colors.
After the program, there was a lively auction of the 50/50 items members had brought. There was spirited bidding. Thanks to all who donated to this auction.
The finale was the fabulous desserts. Everyone that comes to the home of Rex and Pat want
