Kathy’s Chocolate Chip Cheese Bars

1 tube (approx 18 oz.) refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough (Or flavor of your choice)
1 pkg. (8 oz.) regular cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg

(8 x 8 in. square baking pan) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Cut cookie dough in half. For crust, press half of the dough onto bottom of a greased 8 in. sq. baking pan. (I spray with butter flavored Pam or house brand)

In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese, sugar, and egg until smooth. Spread over crust.

Crumble (pinch off pieces) remaining cookie dough over the top of cream cheese mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 – 40 min. or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.  Cool on wire rack.  Refrigerate and serve chilled.  Cut into 12 – 16 pcs.
